- Busing on the Lookout (BOTL) Training Program (Truckers Against Trafficking)
Overview: 2019 Wisconsin Act 27 requires that any commercial driver's license (CDL) school in Wisconsin include in its course requirements instruction in the recognition and prevention of human trafficking. The Wisconsin DOJ in consultation with the Wisconsin Technical College System Board and the Wisconsin Department of Transportation has identified the following industry-specific materials to meet that statutory requirement. These materials are used at CDL schools throughout the United States and are provided free of charge by the national non-profit, Truckers Against Trafficking.
INDUSTRY-SPECIFIC MATERIALS FOR USE IN INSTRUCTION AT ALL WISCONSIN CDL SCHOOLS (INCLUDING PRIVATELY RUN CDL SCHOOLS)
Instructor's Note: Gaining awareness about human trafficking is very important and it can also be a sensitive issue to discuss. It could bring up feelings or trauma related to a sexual assault or victimization experienced by a student, instructor, or someone they know. Even if a student or instructor hasn’t been personally impacted by human trafficking, learning about it can be upsetting. Instructors are invited to consider the following:
